Role Description:
As a Senior PMO Officer, you will be part of the Global Delivery Portfolio Management Office Division. This role comes with increased responsibility, requiring you to facilitate best practices and ensure that overall project governance standards are met. By tracking performance, ensuring compliance, and overseeing project delivery across time, budget, and scope, you will play a critical role in the successful delivery of complex projects. Compared to the PMO Officer position, this role involves higher-level responsibilities, more complex assignments, and deeper involvement in strategic PMO tasks.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
Support Strategic Project/Program Managers: Track the status of program deliverables, milestones, and overall progress.
Ensure Governance Compliance: Ensure that deliverables and documentation related to organizational frameworks are in place.
Reporting and Documentation: Generate project status reports and other regular or on-demand reports as required.
Project Governance: Implement, coordinate, and continuously improve project governance arrangements and communication.
Budget Preparation: Assist Project/Program Managers in budget preparation, ensuring alignment with project goals.
PMO Team Collaboration: Work as part of a larger PMO team, and potentially lead one, to ensure consistent and effective project management practices.
Project Portfolio Management (PPM) Tools: Manage the E2E project management instance and tools, ensuring efficiency and alignment with organizational needs.
Resource Management: Handle project resource management tasks, ensuring smooth allocation and resolution of related issues.
Standardization of Processes: Ensure that project management practices are aligned with organizational standards, providing guidance where necessary.
Process Evaluation and Improvement: Evaluate project management maturity and suggest improvements as needed.
Support to Junior PMO Roles: Provide guidance and mentorship to Junior and Mid-level PMO roles, contributing to their professional development.
Collaboration Across Departments: Work closely with various departments and international teams to ensure the successful delivery of IT projects.
Shaping PMO Future: Contribute to internal initiatives aimed at evolving the PMO team and practices.
Coaching and Mentorship: Act as a coach for Junior and Mid-level PMO professionals, ensuring the development of their skills and knowledge.
Key Competencies & Skills Required:
Technical Skills & Experience:
5+ years of experience in PMO, preferably in an IT-related environment.
Proven experience in End-to-End (E2E) participation in complex projects or portfolio management office.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
PMI / PRINCE2 or similar project management certification.
Experience with Agile or Waterfall methodologies.
Experience using SharePoint, Confluence, Teams, JIRA, and PPM tools.
Strong analytical mindset, with attention to detail.
Stakeholder management experience with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Proactive problem-solving attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
Good communication skills in German (minimum B1 level).
Experience as an IT Project Manager.
In-depth project finance knowledge.
Experience in creating and improving processes and drafting guidelines.
Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
Candidates with non-technical degrees must have at least 1 year of relevant experience in project management.
MBA in IT/Insurance/Finance is also a plus.
