Role Description:
The IT Project Manager will oversee one team as part of a large German insurance industry program, Migration Life Classic. This role is responsible for the independent planning, implementation, and execution of IT projects, or sub-projects within larger projects. The IT Project Manager will provide technical leadership, ensure quality control, manage timelines, and contribute to decision-making processes. They will also provide reports and updates to project committees and present project results.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
Independent Project Management: Plan and implement IT projects, or manage sub-projects within larger initiatives, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
Team Leadership: Provide technical leadership to sub-project managers and project staff, guiding them to ensure effective project execution.
Project Control: Monitor project scope, timelines, and quality. Ensure timely and efficient delivery while meeting predefined project goals.
Reporting & Presentations: Generate regular project reports and e-submissions for project committees. Present project results and progress to stakeholders.
Decision-Making: Facilitate and drive decisions within the project scope to maintain project momentum and resolve issues.
Methodology Improvement: Continuously improve project management methods, ensuring the adoption of best practices.
Peer-to-Peer Reviews: Conduct reviews within the division and with ITERGO, ensuring the project aligns with organizational standards.
Knowledge Management: Develop a knowledge base for standard activities and expenses to improve project efficiency.
Support for Smaller Projects: Assist and support project managers working on smaller projects, contributing where necessary.
Cost Estimation & Offer Preparation: Assist in providing cost estimates and help prepare project offers as required.

Technical Skills:
Project Management Standards: Strong domain knowledge of Project Management Standards, with experience in leading project teams in both traditional and Agile delivery environments.

Insurance Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the latest insurance market trends and business processes in the sector.

Previous Experience & Qualifications:
Minimum Educational Qualification:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology.
Candidates with non-computer science degrees must have at least 1 year of relevant experience in IT Project Management or related roles.
MBA in IT/Insurance/Finance is also an option for roles like Requirements Engineer or Test Engineer.
Experience:
3-5 years of experience in IT Project Management or Agile delivery.
Strong planning and analytical skills with a good understanding of processes and structures.
Ability to comprehend the purpose of systems and the critical importance of data accuracy.
Experience in leading teams to deliver IT projects within scope, time, and assigned budgets.
